Dawsonville's Kangaroo Center

Raise your hands... how many of you would expect to find kangaroos in north Georgia?

That's what we thought. But here they are, at the Kangaroo Conservation Center near Dawsonville. We visited recently as part of a Humane Society event. Please click on any of the photos below to see more details.

We start with lots and lots of kangaroos, and a wallaby or two.

Then some Australian birds and a lizard.

And a Georgia deer named Tatum who will come right up to you.

And of course, you need to learn how to throw a boomerang!
