Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. This incredible feat of engineering provides water, power, and recreation to the southwestern U.S.

Visiting Las Vegas at night. These first two photos show the Bellagio, recently featured in the movie Ocean's Eleven. The hotel lobby's ceiling contains thousands of blown-glass flowers created by artist Dale Chihuly.

Our hotel was the Luxor, with its Egyptian motif. The second photo shows the entrance to the hotel's casino, flanked by two large statues. The dog-like statues on the second row of photos were just hanging around near the elevator.

Finally, near Lake Havasu City: the real London Bridge. It was replaced with a larger bridge in London, but to preserve it, it was disassembled in London and moved here in 1971. Brick, by brick, by brick.
